Episcopal Ordinations
When President Fernandez first announced that we would be attending the Episcopal ordination I was really happy and excited for this opportunity. I’ve attended priestly ordinations in Rome in 2004, but never an Episcopal ordination, so I was curious to see exactly how it would proceed. It turned out to be somewhat similar to a priestly ordination.

New Semester Surprises
Well it’s a new semester and that means new classes and some new teachers. One of my new professors is Dr. Steven Schwarz; he teaches me Philosophical Anthropology. He is a real gift to the Mater Ecclesiae College staff in more ways then one...

Preparing for Christmas
We have finally had our first snowfall in Rhode Island, which makes it feel like Christmas at last. But even before this momentous event (particularly for the Mexicans, who are seeing snow for the first time), Christmas preparations were well underway. My main contribution to the ambiance is flowers (basically filling the chapel and the rest of the house with poinsettias) and music – organ in the chapel, and choir, and well, everywhere else.

My Music
There aren’t many things that I love more than music. I am lucky because here at Mater Ecclesiae I have many opportunities to exercise my talents in that field of music! In these past three years at Mater Ecclesiae I have done many things that I always wanted to do but thought I never would. I have composed songs and helped record CD’s, and I am even learning how to play the organ for our daily Mass!

Thanksgiving at Mater Ecclesiae College
If there’s one thing that I’m more thankful for than a good piece of apple pie, it’s being in a full house. And this Thanksgiving I was able to be grateful for both!
It’s been quite the week here, with over sixty guests with us! It’s been great to welcome other consecrated women and alumni to stay with us, as well as all of the International Volunteers from around the U.S.We celebrated Thanksgiving in good style – turkey dinner and all, but we added our own MEC specialty: the final presentations of our composition contest!
