2009 Campus Improvements
Paint job in the front: The paint around our windows and shutters was in bad need of repair, due to years of ware and tear. It was no wonder we had “old” Orphanage attached to our identity! Now, Mater Ecclesiae has a fresh new look thanks to the support of our generous benefactors!
- New gardens outside: The gardens surrounding the campus were renewed with new flowers, bird baths, and brick pathways. It is a pleasure to spend quality family time outside. Thanks to all our benefactors (and gardeners!) who made this possible.
- Activities on campus (vacation, excursions, school, and holidays): Thank you for your generosity in allowing us to go on our excursions, vacation days and fieldtrips. Some of our greatest joys are when we can go out to share our faith and our love for Christ and his Church, our excurstions are a great opportunity. Read about one student's experience here.
- Lights in the auditorium: Our auditorium has gone through great renovations since the beginning of the college. Our latest improvement is the new spotlights above the stage and the renovation of the ceiling. The lights provide a dramatic effect which helps our many academic presentations and retreats. As well, our new ceiling creates a new ambience, a more open environment…Thank you for your help!
Projects for 2010
- Library Project: The greatest project of 2010 is the building of our library. It is one of the requirements for the accreditation as a college and one of the final steps. We have been fundraising for the project for a couple of years and now look forward to the ground breaking this spring 2010! The library includes not only the building, but all the furnishing and books as well. We appreciate anything you are able to contribute to this endeavor. The students are looking forward to its completion. We’ll get there book by book, brick by brick, dollar by dollar! Any money you can put forth for this project is very helpful. Please keep this intention in your prayers.
- New fleet of cars: Our cars are used more often then most other cars around! With the constant comings and goings of the Consecrated women, we have as our goal to replace some of our cars. Whatever you can contribute would be very appreciative.
Future Projects and Desires:
School furnishing (desks, chairs, boards, etc.): The desks, chairs, boards and lockers of the college have been well used for the past fifteen years. They are quite the hand-me-downs and have served their purpose. But when the doors start to break from the hinges and the boards start to tilt it’s time to upgrade the classroom furniture. This would provide a more student-friendly environment in our classrooms, where dozens of Consecrated women in Regnum Christi are preparing for their mission.
