Mater Ecclesiae offers instruction leading to a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Religious and Pastoral Studies. The program of studies provides a comprehensive liberal arts education that prepares consecrated women for leadership positions in educational, pastoral, religious and social services.
First year courses provide students with a basis in spirituality; second year courses center on philosophy; the focal point of the third year is religious studies; and fourth year courses offer instruction in pastoral studies. Annual fieldwork placements allow students to integrate and enrich theoretical knowledge within the context of practical service opportunities. The core liberal arts courses in religious studies, pastoral studies and philosophy are supplemented by general education requirements in the social, natural and computer sciences, with additional humanities courses in communication arts, fine arts, and foreign languages.
